STUDENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Purpose:
The purpose of the CTC Automobile Incentive is to encourage students to:
- Improve their performance
- Participate in various school based initiatives
Students will earn one chance at the vehicle of their choice for a variety of accomplishments as listed below. Each chance will be assigned one ticket that will be placed in a drum. Somewhere after May 15 th but prior to the last day for seniors, one name will be drawn from the drum. The student whose name is drawn will receive their choice of vehicles that are offered or a cash offer determined by the FCSMTF (payable in form of a check). Parents will be notified and will be a part of the title transfer process or money distribution.
The Automobile(s)
The Automobile(s) will be donated by the Frederick County Student’s Mechanical Trades Foundation Inc. The Automotive Incentive committee will choose (2 or 3) vehicles from the donated inventory that will appeal to a variety of students. Targeted vehicles will be evaluated for mechanical and cosmetic concerns and the Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs will complete all appropriate repairs. The vehicle(s) will be inspected by an authorized MD inspection station.
Tickets for the following achievements will be distributed to the instructors :
- Perfect attendance (the only exception being school related activities)
- Straight A’s for the term
- An A in their Technical Program
- Raising their CTC program grade by two letter grades
- Calculated at the end of term 2, term 3 and term 4 midterm
- Medalist at state competitions (1 ticket)
- Gold medalist in state competition (1 additional ticket)
- Student of the Month
- Induction into the National Technical Honor Society
- Individual attendance goal(s) determined by the administrative team
- Special circumstances in academic and/or personal growth (nominated by staff member and approved by administrative team)
In addition, students can “purchase” a ticket when they accumulate 5 “ CTC Bucks” . CTC Bucks will be awarded by staff members as an incentive for students at the instructor’s discretion. The maximum award for any one instructor incentive is limited to two (2) “CTC Bucks”. When students accumulate five (5) CTC bucks they may redeem them for a ticket at the school store.
