Community Service Projects:
Holiday Cards for the Troops: each student at the Career Tech Center has
prepared a holiday card to be sent to the troops in the Mid-East. The Career
Tech Center has coordinated this project through the South Washington County
Military Support Group.Samples of the student's messages will be on display
near the front lobby.

Canned Food Drive for Salavation Army: The week of Dec. 4-8 students will
collect non-perishable food items to be donated to the Salvation Army for
their holiday collection and distribution. Donations may be dropped off at a
collection box located in the front lobby of the school between 7:30 AM and
2:30 PM.

Katrina Rebuilding Project: The SkillsUSA officers are in the process of
planning a trip to the New Orleans area during the 2007 Spring Break for
students from the Career Tech Center to participate in the rebuilding
efforts. More information will be posted as the plans are finalized.

 

  Building 1

 

The Career Tech Chapter of SkillsUSA sponsors several community service projects during the school year.

This year the chapter has initiated the collection of aluminum beverage/ food tabs to support a local child who has extensive medical bills. Contributions can be dropped in the front lobby.

A building wide recycling program will be underway under the supervision of Dan Kennedy a student in CISCO.

Officers are currently planning a spring trip to New Orleans to assist with the rebuilding of homes of Katrina victims. More info to follow.

Rebuilding together will also occur in Frederick County in April. More info to follow.
