With Frederick being a part of the Baltimore & Washington Metropolitan areas, the employment opportunities in the construction industry are excellent. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Nationally, it is predicted that a 14% increase will occur in carpentry related jobs by the year 2012. In Maryland, a 19% increase is predicted in that same period of time. The carpentry program at CTC teaches students entry-level carpentry skills and introduces students to the construction career pathway and the educational requirements along the way.
