AWARDS RECOGNITION
Timothy Brakebill is one of four recipients of the 2006 Building Congress & Exchange Future Craftsman Awards.
In addition to peer recognition and a commemorative plaque, Tim will receive a $1000.00 monetary certificate to be applied toward the cost of tuition for further education in construction or toward the purchase of tools to begin work in the a construction career.
Derek Willard earned a bronze third place medal in the 2006 Maryland SkillsUSA Championships Carpentry Contest
The TeamWorks competition requires teams of four to build a joint project demonstrating their preparation for employment in residential construction. Team members must: analyze a project drawing; write an action plan and give a presentation (in which each team member is required to have an active part); and demonstrate their ability to work as a team performingskills in residential carpentry, plumbing, electricity and masonry. They are also judged on cleanliness of jobsite, timeliness of completing the project, and proper ordering and inventorying of tools and equipment.

Brian Burrier, Andrew Putman, Rae Froitzheim, Curtis Hodge placed second in the nation in the Teamworks Competition. Brian and Andrew were Carpentry students, Rae was from our Electricity Program and Curtis represented the Masonry Program.
