This summer, the Frederick County Career & Technology Center will hold its 16^th annual Career Camp. This half-day summer experience will provide students with the opportunity to explore two appealing career choices. The classes are designed to challenge and expose students to real-world challenges, as well as to provide them with exposure to both skilled and professional careers so that they can make informed decisions regarding their future careers and educational choices.

This year’s camp will be available to all current 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade students.

Students will attend two classes/programs each day of camp. A mid-morning snack and beverage will be served between classes.

1^st Class: 8:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
Break (change classes): 10:15 a.m. - 10:25 a.m.
2^nd Class: 10:25 a.m. - 12:10 p.m.

The classes/programs are designed to utilize high-interest activities that are related to various careers. Many of the offerings are relevant to the technical and service-oriented programs offered at the Career and Technology Center during the regular school year. Bus transportation is available from all of the middle schools (except Monocacy). In addition, bus transportation will be available from several of the elementary schools.

$175: 1 child, one week, with transportation	$330: 2 children, one week, with transportation

*Several classes require an additional $10 materials fee. These include Photography, Horticulture, Culinary Arts, and Baking.

Career Camp brochures and applications will be available at all FCPS middle school main offices and the Career & Technology Center main office beginning on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

Students attending grades 6,7 and 8 in private middle schools are also encouraged to attend Career Camp!
