INSTRUCTOR
Kathy Koops, RN, MS, has been an instructor at the Frederick County Career and Technology Center since 1997. She taught the Fundamentals of Nursing program for 10 years prior to becoming the instructor for Biomedical Sciences. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1983 and from The Johns Hopkins University in 2003 with a Master of Science in Education degree. Prior to her tenure with Frederick County Public Schools, Mrs. Koops worked as a registered nurse in the fields of Oncology, Psychiatry, Home Health and School Health. She is currently working toward an AA degree in Biotechnology at Frederick Community College. Mrs. Koops holds an Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education.
Mrs. Koops is a SkillsUSA advisor, serves on the CTC Recruitment Committee, School Improvement Team, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Frederick Community College Nursing Program.
