Gary Wilfong joined the staff of the Career & Technology Center in the fall of 2001. Prior to coming to the Career & Technology Center, Gary was employed at a local new car dealership for 23 years where he worked as an Auto Technician, Shop Foreman, and Service Manager. Gary was also involved in the advisory committee for the Washington County Career Studies Center’s Automotive Program. Gary is an ASE Certified Master Technician, L1 Engine Performance Specialist, and a Certified VEIP Emissions Technician. Gary graduated from a high school automotive program, participated in their work study program and has earned 30+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry.
Richard C. Smith Jr. joined the automotive program at the Career & Technology Center in April of 2001. He began his automotive career in high school working at J.C. Penney’s Auto Center. After graduation, Richard joined the U.S. Army as a wheel and track vehicle mechanic for four years earning the rank of sergeant. He spent the next 20 years as an automotive technician, also working part-time at Fort Detrick in the late 1990’s advising soldiers on the repair of their privately owned vehicles. Richard is an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician, L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist, and ASE Certified Undercar Specialist.
