ADMISSIONS

Students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 who are in good standing at their home schools may apply. Our cosmetology course is open to 11th and 12th graders only . All courses are accessed through competitive application. When courses are over-enrolled, selection is based on personal interview/evaluation, student's attendance, grade point average, and other criteria appropriate to the program.

Students must shadow a program before an application can be received.

Click on "Shadow" or "Apply" to go to that area.

For second year students, teacher recommendations are weighed heavily in the selection process. Several programs have specific criteria for acceptance, which are referred to in the program descriptions. Only tenth grade students may enroll in the Cosmetology program. Only eleventh and twelfth grade students may enroll in the Fundamentals of Nursing, Academy of Finance, and Marketing Education courses. Preference is given to eleventh grade students in Marketing Education I.

Students desiring to enroll in a program for a second or third year must have the signed permission of the instructor. The Center Selection Committee and the home school must then approve this permission. Only those students who have demonstrated that they are exceptionally motivated and focused upon a specific career field will be admitted.

First year students must have passed their class in order to progress into the second level. Second year students are given preference over third year students in order to assure that they can get a Career and Technology Education program completer.
